AREA worked as a sub-consultant to French and Parrello, Inc. and provided design services for the deck replacement, seismic retrofit of the bridge, bearing replacement and substructure repairs for Structure No. 1101-163 and 1101-162. Responsibilities included hands-on condition inspection of the piers and abutments, preliminary engineering, seismic retrofit analysis, final design and PS&E submission for the bearing repairs/replacement; jacking scheme and substructure concrete repairs for the two bridges. Also responsible for the review of working drawings and RFIs and site visits to monitor progress of construction.
